Illustrator of Buddha Bear
I’m so happy to be part of the wonderful story of
Buddha Bear, which is essential in today’s world filled with such uncertainty. Humans can be reminded of the little joys that the world has to offer. I loved this project and exercised some new artistic techniques I had not tried before, which was exciting. I also loved the introduction of culture into the story which allowed me to learn about a new culture and apply it to my art. I felt like I was living the story with the main character, Buddha Bear, and was happy that there was a happy ending for him. I think this story shares good lessons for both children and adults. I look forward to more collaborations with Lulu Edge.

Buddha Bear
A young cub named Buddha Bear is destined to be a monk and lives with his family in the forests of Thailand where they lead a simple life, in harmony with nature around them. A curious cub, Buddha Bear asks many questions of his parents, which they answer with love and wisdom until they allow only five more. Buddha Bear’s dream is to become a wealthy and powerful king, so his parents’ answers are not what he wants to hear. Years pass for Buddha Bear until a chance encounter and long journey far from his family lead him to live the life he’s always wanted. But in time, his heart grows lonely and greedy, living a life that is sad and unfulfilling. He takes heed of his parents’ long-ago answers and comes to realize that at home in the forests, he had been richer than he ever realized.
